SEVIS

SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) has been introduced by the U.S. government in order to properly and successfully to track all J-1 program participants.

SEVIS requires that all J-1 program participants check in with their program sponsor within 72 hours (3 days) of arrival to the USA.

 

 

IF YOU DO NOT REGISTER WITH SEVIS, YOU ARE IN DANGER OF LOSING YOUR LEGAL J-1 STATUS AND MAY BE SUBJECT TO PROGRAM DISMISSAL.

Furthermore, program participants are now required to check in with their sponsor at least every 30 days after their initial program check-in to confirm that you are safe and continuing to successfully complete your program with your approved host company .
